TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF.

Having one's life guided by falsehood, faulty foundations and ungodly principles can be self destructive and misleading. In fact, the Scripture relates that "there is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death" (cf. Proverbs 14:12). To escape this danger and live enjoying the fulness of God's companionship and blessings, we are to be guided the Spirit of Truth, the Holy Spirit.

NEW MONTH'S BLESSINGS FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST

In the Hebrew scriptures (the Old Testament) the number 8 sometimes is used symbolically to represent that which is a surplus or a complete completion of a thing. With the number 7 being the number of completion, perfection or fullness, 8 can be best understood as still part of the whole just greater than the whole. For example, the basket is full of grains, and then there is a surplus...
