TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF. 

Unlike the disobedience or Eve and Adam that severed the relationship of God with humanity and the subsequent expulsion of humanity from the garden of Eden (the old church), the obedience of Mary marked the beginning of the realisation of the salvific work of God in Christ Jesus. Haven reconciled humanity and the universe to God, Christ Jesus hands over His newly founded Church to the maternal role of Mary. This sets Mary forth as a model of obedience for us.

NEW MONTH'S BLESSINGS FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST

In the Hebrew scriptures (the Old Testament) the number 8 sometimes is used symbolically to represent that which is a surplus or a complete completion of a thing. With the number 7 being the number of completion, perfection or fullness, 8 can be best understood as still part of the whole just greater than the whole. For example, the basket is full of grains, and then there is a surplus...
