TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF.                              

The call to discipleship of Christ Jesus demands that one be born again; such a one must be circumcised at heart and not just going through a particular ritual just for the sake of the ceremony. This requires us to become christ-like in our way of life since being born again configures us to the person of Christ, the first born son of God. Consequently, we're henceforth to live as God's children in the imitation of Christ since we're made the children of God by adoption through Jesus Christ.

NEW MONTH'S BLESSINGS FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST

In the Hebrew scriptures (the Old Testament) the number 8 sometimes is used symbolically to represent that which is a surplus or a complete completion of a thing. With the number 7 being the number of completion, perfection or fullness, 8 can be best understood as still part of the whole just greater than the whole. For example, the basket is full of grains, and then there is a surplus...
