TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF.                            

The passover marked literally the end of the stay of the Israelites in Egypt and the beginning of their Exodus out of Egypt. It marked the beginning of the holistic liberation of the Israelites from Egypt; the land of slavery, poverty, hard labour, oppression, afflictions and alienation from God. It marked the beginning of their restoration.  God saves His people with His mighty arm. At the passover meal, Jesus Christ established the new and eternal covenant in His own blood to save and restore humanity; ending pur slavery to sin, the reign of evil, darkness, afflictions and misfortune. Haven made us adopted children of God, He sends us out today to carry on with this mandate of redeeming and restoring our fellow human beings. Get ready! Your salvation, redemption and restoration are at hand.

NEW MONTH'S BLESSINGS FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST

In the Hebrew scriptures (the Old Testament) the number 8 sometimes is used symbolically to represent that which is a surplus or a complete completion of a thing. With the number 7 being the number of completion, perfection or fullness, 8 can be best understood as still part of the whole just greater than the whole. For example, the basket is full of grains, and then there is a surplus...
