TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF.                           

Jesus Christ, knowing we all need a guide, promises to ask God the Father send us the Counselor (cf. John 14:16). As God's children,  the need for a godly and God-given guide is inevitable. We need both the Divine Guide; the Holy Spirit, and a human guide; who is a veritable tool in the hand of the Holy Spirit. Who is your guide as you journey through life? Your guide, to a large extent, determines how much you're able to know in truth your destination and how much you're able to get to your destination.

NEW MONTH'S BLESSINGS FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST

In the Hebrew scriptures (the Old Testament) the number 8 sometimes is used symbolically to represent that which is a surplus or a complete completion of a thing. With the number 7 being the number of completion, perfection or fullness, 8 can be best understood as still part of the whole just greater than the whole. For example, the basket is full of grains, and then there is a surplus...
