TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF.                           

As stewards and in imitation of Jesus Christ we're called to the service to God and humanity to minister at the table of the sacraments and of the Word as well as serving the needs of God's people. As stewards, we shall give an account of our stewardship at the end of time. This call to service therefore requires of us high level integrity and the pursuit of holiness in the course of discharging our responsibilities in our call.

NEW MONTH'S BLESSINGS FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST

In the Hebrew scriptures (the Old Testament) the number 8 sometimes is used symbolically to represent that which is a surplus or a complete completion of a thing. With the number 7 being the number of completion, perfection or fullness, 8 can be best understood as still part of the whole just greater than the whole. For example, the basket is full of grains, and then there is a surplus...
