TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF.                            

Though we continuously sin and provoke God to anger, His mercy is greater than the sins of the whole world put together, and this mercy of His endures forever. This explains why God would prefer forgiving our sins rather than punish us when He sees us truly repented of our sins and with genuine remorsefulness we come to Him to seek forgiveness and the grace not to sin again. To this effect, then, no matter how sinful we may be, we must trust in God's mercy and grace to seek His forgiveness, turn away from sin and live the life of virtue.

NEW MONTH'S BLESSINGS FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST

In the Hebrew scriptures (the Old Testament) the number 8 sometimes is used symbolically to represent that which is a surplus or a complete completion of a thing. With the number 7 being the number of completion, perfection or fullness, 8 can be best understood as still part of the whole just greater than the whole. For example, the basket is full of grains, and then there is a surplus...
