TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF.                           

We must learn to make sacrifices for the future generations and for one another rather than sacrificing the future generations and one another if we must create a better world for ourselves and for all. Nothing is worth sacrificing others and/or the future generations for. In fact, it's an obligation upon us to leave a better society than we inherited for the next generation. This can only happen if we, like Jesus Christ, adopt the life of "sacrifice" for the holistic good and "salvation" of all.

NEW MONTH'S BLESSINGS FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST

In the Hebrew scriptures (the Old Testament) the number 8 sometimes is used symbolically to represent that which is a surplus or a complete completion of a thing. With the number 7 being the number of completion, perfection or fullness, 8 can be best understood as still part of the whole just greater than the whole. For example, the basket is full of grains, and then there is a surplus...
