TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF.                         

The wages of sin is death but Jesus Christ,  the Son of man, has come that we may have life and have it in abundance. Sin separates us from God and once separated from God we loose our "immunity" and as such we become vulnerable to death (we are alienated from God; the source of life). Thus, following the faith of his friends, Jesus reconciles the paralytic brought to Him in this Gospel episode by forgiving his sins. It's upon this reconciliation/forgiveness that the paralytic received healing and restoration. Do you desire forgiveness, healing, restoration and divine blessings, be reconciled with God and with your fellow human beings and you'll live to testify just like the paralytic.

NEW MONTH'S BLESSINGS FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST

In the Hebrew scriptures (the Old Testament) the number 8 sometimes is used symbolically to represent that which is a surplus or a complete completion of a thing. With the number 7 being the number of completion, perfection or fullness, 8 can be best understood as still part of the whole just greater than the whole. For example, the basket is full of grains, and then there is a surplus...
