TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF.                           

God's house is indeed a house of prayer. This house of God is not to be understood to be limited to the physical Temple/Church. This house of God is more essentially you and I. Jesus reiterating the Prophet Isaiah (Isa. 56:7) says in Matthew 21:13 "It is written," he said to them, "'My house will be called a house of prayer,' but you are making it a 'den of robbers.'" By our way of life we must make conscientious and intentional effort to be a house pleasing to God and worthy of His presence.

NEW MONTH'S BLESSINGS FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST

In the Hebrew scriptures (the Old Testament) the number 8 sometimes is used symbolically to represent that which is a surplus or a complete completion of a thing. With the number 7 being the number of completion, perfection or fullness, 8 can be best understood as still part of the whole just greater than the whole. For example, the basket is full of grains, and then there is a surplus...
