TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF.                        

The souls of the virtuous are in the hands of God. In death we find rest from the toils and the troubles of this world and above all find eternal peace and unending light in the presence of God. Nevertheless, we must endeavour to live the life of grace in virtue haven been by God in Jesus Christ. Our dead indeed rest in God even as we continue to pray for God's mercy upon them.

NEW MONTH'S BLESSINGS FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST

In the Hebrew scriptures (the Old Testament) the number 8 sometimes is used symbolically to represent that which is a surplus or a complete completion of a thing. With the number 7 being the number of completion, perfection or fullness, 8 can be best understood as still part of the whole just greater than the whole. For example, the basket is full of grains, and then there is a surplus...
