TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF.                          

Any religion that ends in external rituals and ceremonies without positive impacts on and eliciting virtuous lifestyle from its adherents is a false religion. Christianity, beyond being a body of rituals and ceremonies, is above all a way of life modeled after the lifestyle of Jesus Christ, hence the name Christian (Christ-like). Are you truly a Christian? Are you Christ-like? Or are you only a Christian in name and in uniform?

NEW MONTH'S BLESSINGS FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST

In the Hebrew scriptures (the Old Testament) the number 8 sometimes is used symbolically to represent that which is a surplus or a complete completion of a thing. With the number 7 being the number of completion, perfection or fullness, 8 can be best understood as still part of the whole just greater than the whole. For example, the basket is full of grains, and then there is a surplus...
