TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF.                         

The human person, the family and the church are the most basic units of the presence of the kingdom of God. The place of the family in the making more present to the world the kingdom of God is imperative. This kingdom of God in the family context is built on the dual principles of love and respect; the husband must love the wife as Jesus Christ loves the church and the wife must be submissive to the husband as the church is to Jesus Christ.

NEW MONTH'S BLESSINGS FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST

In the Hebrew scriptures (the Old Testament) the number 8 sometimes is used symbolically to represent that which is a surplus or a complete completion of a thing. With the number 7 being the number of completion, perfection or fullness, 8 can be best understood as still part of the whole just greater than the whole. For example, the basket is full of grains, and then there is a surplus...
