TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF.                         

The cross of Jesus Christ is at the centre of our Christian life,; its source and summit. On the Cross our condemnation and death were cancelled out, our debt was paid, victory was won for us over Satan, sin, shame, darkness and all forms of evil, we are made adopted children of God through Jesus Christ and given full access to God's blessings. Happy feast of the Exultation of the Cross.

NEW MONTH'S BLESSINGS FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST

In the Hebrew scriptures (the Old Testament) the number 8 sometimes is used symbolically to represent that which is a surplus or a complete completion of a thing. With the number 7 being the number of completion, perfection or fullness, 8 can be best understood as still part of the whole just greater than the whole. For example, the basket is full of grains, and then there is a surplus...
