TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF.                         

The greatest illusion that has kept man miserable and left the world in a disarray is the unfortunate quest to impress the world with one's possessions. Sadly enough, no one has succeeded in this quest and none will. The worth and value of your life is not a function of what you have but whom you have. Only the presence of God in a man's life gives true value to human existence because the presence of God gives meaning to what you have and are.

NEW MONTH'S BLESSINGS FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST

In the Hebrew scriptures (the Old Testament) the number 8 sometimes is used symbolically to represent that which is a surplus or a complete completion of a thing. With the number 7 being the number of completion, perfection or fullness, 8 can be best understood as still part of the whole just greater than the whole. For example, the basket is full of grains, and then there is a surplus...
