TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF.                      

Don't be too busy preparing for the life of heaven that you fail to live your life on earth to the fullest. The coming of Jesus Christ in human form marked the beginning of the inauguration of God's kingdom on earth; a kingdom that's already present (not in all its fulness though) and yet becoming. Your living out the values of the kingdom of God on earth facilitates the becoming of God's kingdom on earth.

NEW MONTH'S BLESSINGS FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST

In the Hebrew scriptures (the Old Testament) the number 8 sometimes is used symbolically to represent that which is a surplus or a complete completion of a thing. With the number 7 being the number of completion, perfection or fullness, 8 can be best understood as still part of the whole just greater than the whole. For example, the basket is full of grains, and then there is a surplus...
