The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him (Nahum 1:7).

Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which can not be shaken but endures forever (Psalm 125:1).

When the Lord brought back the captives of Zion, we were like men who dreamed.
Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations "the Lord has done great things for them" (Psalm 126:1-2).

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth gives way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea (Psalm 46:1-2).

The name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run to it and are safe (Proverbs 18:10).

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world (John 16:33). 

Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing (1 Thessalonians 5:11)

Amidst the turbulent situations, uncertainties, fears, agitations, pains, despair and afflictions of our life, our society, our nation Nigeria and our world of today, I wholeheartedly and passionately commend you, all yours, our nation and our world to God Almighty in humbleprayers and supplications: 

that he may keep us in his love, care and protection; that he may let his face shine upon us; that he may salvage us, our nation and our world; that he may restore peace in our turbulent world; that he may hear and answer the cries and prayers of the masses for a better and a transformed Nigeria and world where human life and dignity are truly respected, where there is peace, equity, equitable distribution of resources, progress, development and love; and that God may save us from anarchy and doom.

NEW MONTH'S BLESSINGS FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST

In the Hebrew scriptures (the Old Testament) the number 8 sometimes is used symbolically to represent that which is a surplus or a complete completion of a thing. With the number 7 being the number of completion, perfection or fullness, 8 can be best understood as still part of the whole just greater than the whole. For example, the basket is full of grains, and then there is a surplus...
